| Description: |
Documentary evidence shows that golf was played on Musselburgh Links in 1672 although Mary, Queen of Scots reputedly played here in 1567.
Many claim this to be the world's very first, authentic golf course.
The Open Championship was played here on six occasions and the legendary Willie Park Junior, a local man, won the second of his Open titles on the links in 1889.
Many come not just for the golf but to learn a little more about the beginnings of the game, as the clubhouse is practically a golf museum in its own right
